coo's from the crib (or, my life as a baby)

Every morning on the way to day care, I tell my dad what's on my mind. I've asked him to pass the news on. I'm sorry if he misinterprets some of my coos as swear words....sometimes I get so frustrated that he doesn't get it right. But, hey, I'm just a baby and lack the manual dexterity to type for myself.

pennsylvanian standoff

poor cat.

she seems so adorable. i'm adorable. you'd think it would be a perfect match. but no. she's too uppity for me. all i want to do it hold her and pet her and squeeze her. the folks "make" us play together, but you can see in the little cat's eyes that she's scared to death. i don't know why. sure, i pat at her and i grip her hair. but its only for a few seconds. my pal cookie doesn't seem to mind. but the cat simply won't have anything to do with me.

this is the closest she gets to me on her own. and even then, i'm locked in my high chair and virtually motionless.

at least she gets a seat at the table to call her own.

as if there were any doubt....

i present undisputable, empiracal proof that i am, in fact, daddy's little girl.

cheapskates

so after banging my head on the ground a few times, all i get from the folks is an excited happy "timber" chorus from the two of them. i even pointed them in the right direction of thudguard, and they still won't pull the trigger to get me the little helmet.

surrounding me in pillows may work today, but what about next month when i'm more mobile? please protect my wee little noggin.

scandinavian heritage

what a weekend i had with the folks! we got trashed on ale and went on a rampage through the new world.

a few seconds sooner...

...and you would've found my dad using the toilet.

and he told me he was stuffing me in this thing to go for a walk! what a bastard.

6 month report card

mommy got a report card about me yesterday from the mean folks that stick me with the needle. here's how i did this semester....

Weight...90%.
Comments: 18lbs 5 oz. "Growing well!"

Length...95%.
Comments: 27 3/4 inches "That's one long ass baby!

Headsize...70%
Comments: "Head better start growing before her daddy's ear DNA kicks in."

--------------

so, two A's and a C is pretty good in my book. i'll try harder next time. but realistically, i don't think i can add too much to my workload. in addition to eating, sleeping, pooping and sitting up that i already have on my plate, i'm hoping to add crawling and maybe walking to the next six months.

i'll probably take walking pass/fail. unless the folks invest in a thudguard for me.

lazy weekend

what a great weekend so far. however, even with the sunny weather, my family couldn't quite get moving today. we were able to catch up on some much needed sleep though. good tradeoff, i guess.

we finally did manage to spend a little time outside tonight. mommy was paying attention to me. i was paying attention to my toes and the sound of every car that went by (although by the time i looked up, they were long gone). and as usual, daddy had his nose in his comic books. what a dork.
